A Very Special Birthday

I turned 22 today. It was a great birthday. I got to take a long nap and had a delicious dinner at Olive Garden with the family. Cam gave me a new phone in addition to the loot in the picture below. I love to celebrate birthdays, especially my own!

my best present ever- don't you love the double chin?

I never believed that old cliche about how your high school years were the best years of your life. These past couple years I've really become my own person, a little more confident than ever before. I am definitely in the best period of my life so far and I know it'll only get better.

Rounding Out

Conner went to a special five month check-up this week so that his pediatrician could see if his flat spot was getting better. I could not tell at all if it was improving. I had made my peace with Conner needing a helmet. It was a pleasant suprise when we learned that his head was doing fine. Growing well at 43in around. There was no need for a helmet. Phew! I breathed a big sigh of relief as we left the doctors office. He is 15 lbs 13 oz, a good-sized lug of a bug.

Conner didn't like being set down and Grandma couldn't resist taking a picture of his sad face

Milestones too Soon ( for Mommy anyway)

I think one year isn't long enough for my bug-a-boo to be an infant. It is amazing how fast little ones grow in their first year. Conner is already sitting up really well, about two months sooner than average. I guess I can always consider him my baby, even when he isn't one anymore. This is such a fun age for him though! He is a joy!

Conner thinks computers are fun! He will really be a 21st century boy!

A Memorable Holiday

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day. I don't even remember what Cam and I did to celebrate it last year, probably because we didn't do much. This year was much more memorable, especially since it was Conner's first Valentines.

Cam took me to a wonderful, but really busy resturant called Oreganos. I had a delicious meal topped off with a pazookie (pizza cookie) that was melt in your mouth good! Next time I'm getting take-out though, 45 minutes is too long to sit waiting for your food in a resturant!

After we dropped Conner off at home we went to see Valentines Day with free movie passes I won subbing for Mom's Bunco group. It was cute and fun to watch, even in the front row with Cam occasionally dissing the movie ( he doesn't like romcoms but thought this one was ok)

On the actual Valentines Day, Mom gave us all my favorite chocolates, Lindt Lindor Truffles. She gets these for me every holiday. They are a wonderful indulgence.

Grandma Debbie gave Conner his first Valentine.

Don't you just love his faces in these pictures? He looks like he is really concentrating on the card.

Conner's First Christmas

Conner had a low-key first Christmas. Cam and I can't really afford to give him much right now, but he got a few clothes from Grandma and Annie. We will make it a bigger thing when he is old enough to understand because I love Christmas! I love to give that perfect gift to a family member. The kids in my family draw names so that we only have to buy for one person and my parents. My nephews Parker and Jayden got to help draw names this year and they loved it! I think we will keep up with that tradition. I think I may even try to introduce it to my in-laws. It's fun and saves money! It will also be great when Conner can understand the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it. I am so glad he will grow up in the gospel and know his Savior Jesus Christ. Many children are not so lucky.
