6 Big Ones!

He's six months old! We went to the doctor today and he weighed in at 16lbs and 13oz. That's in the 40th or 50th precentile for his age. He is 27 inches long, which is in the 75th percentile. He's still a lean weenie, but it's probably because he is a very active little boy. Always wiggling! Except for today, after he got his shots. At the doctors he took the pain really well, not crying very much or very loud. I calmed him down in a few minutes. I kept telling him how brave he was. He is a really tough baby. It's horrible to be glad he had to be in pain but he actually slept for 3 long hours! I was so excited, but he is still having a rough time, he's got a cold and is dealing with the vaccines and sore muscles. He is asleep now, and I hope he will get lots of sleep tonight. He needs it because he has had a DAY today.
The puppy in these pictures was Shane's birthday present. His name is Bruce and he is very interested in Conner and his toys (ugh).

Reality Check

I surely was in dreamland, a land for inexperienced mothers when I told my mom I couldn't wait until Conner was 3mos old because then he would be sleeping through the night. HA! I wish I was in dreamland right now! Maybe then I would get some sleep and Conner would too. You see, my beautiful baby boy takes 3-4 naps a day, even at six months because he only sleeps an hour to an hour and a half each time usually. Plus he has interrupted sleep at night which only totals about 8 hours usually. This has been his habit since he was a month old, he has never slept long but he was getting into a good rthymn until his four month shots messed it all up. For the past two months it has been bad, half hour naps in the day followed by nights where he would wake up 5 times. I've tried every technique and strategy I could think of. Now I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Conner has improved greatly in the past couple weeks but his 6 month shots are only a few days away. Am I doomed to repeat this every time he has a fever? Probably. oh my were my expectations too high!

Here are some of the places Conner sleeps, have I mentioned I've tried everything?

Conneroo at the Zoo

Erica, Spencer, and the boys came down for a visit this week. We went to the Phoenix Zoo yesterday. It was Conner's first trip to the zoo but I think he spent most of the time looking at the ground. Oh well, the rest of us saw a lot of cool animals.

I'd Like To Bear My Testimony...

The role of a mother...A calling from God
I know that the Family Proclamation is revelation for our day from men called of God. I know that it contains truths about our roles in the family unit, particularly that of a mother. I also know that women have a special role in this world, in and outside the family. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers in his own time, because he knows when the best opportunites will come, even if it takes months. I know that as long as we try hard and have faith we will be blessed. I also know that the Lord knows the intents of our hearts, because we may fall short in our actions, but still be blessed. I feel as though I want to be worthy of the great blessing Cameron's new job is to our family, and will try hard to earn it. I love my Heavenly Father and am grateful for the Atonement of Christ everyday. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
