Too Funny

Conner makes me laugh all the time. He is such a character.

For his birthday I thought I would post some of the silly things Conner did in the last few days of his first year. Conner baby, you make my life so much more interesting and I love you for it!

The pictures are of Conner using his very own Diego and Dora toothbrush, only he's got the wrong end in his mouth. The other one is of Conner after I tried to dress him. I accidentally twisted his shirt around the sleeve leaaving him looking like he had a bikini on. He is IMPOSSIBLE to dress!

This video is of Conner doing his latest mouth noises. I taught him this but he added his own baby flair to it with the backwards hand and jazz fingers.

Name Calling

Conner climbing in his carseat and having trouble getting out. Siily goose.

I know that when you read the name of this post you probably were thinking "uh oh, Kaitlan's gonna rant about a bully at the supermarket or something" but I was really just trying to be creative. Every now and then it happens, and I have to take advantage of the creativity while it lasts.

As Conner's first year is wrapping up and we are getting ready for the next one, I have been pretty reflective, trying to remember EVERYTHING. Well I can't do that but as he grows older he won't let us call him all the nicknames we have for him, some are just for babies. We might even come up with new ones. So I thought I would write down all of Conner's nicknames so I can keep a piece of his infancy with me.

1. Conneroo:this one was made up by Uncle Kevin who was concerned that Conner isn't a name that could be shortened into a nickname.Who wants the nickname Con? ick.

2.Bug-a-boo: because that's what babies are. I made up a song incorporating both Conneroo and Bug-a-boo. It went like this..." Conneroo is my bug-a-boo, sweet love I do." I know it won't win any Grammys but I think my baby appreciated it.

3. Biggest/Littlest: Conner's Grandma Jenny calls the babies in her life Biggest. Cam got that nickname from her while also calling him littlest because he IS both at the same time.

4. Misters/guy: Whenever Conner does anything Cam calls him Mister-fill-in-the-blank, or the fill-in-the-blank-guy. Example: Mister plops-on-the-ground. or ploppy-guy. It's cute.

5. Booger: This fits because the kid has had more runny/stuffy noses than I can count. Plus he sometimes acts like one.

I often mix nicknames together or just shorten them. Like Conner-bug or Booger-boo. My, won't he be embarassed when he's older? Oh well, it's a parents perogative.

Fire Station Fun

Every Friday at 10:00am Conner and I (and sometimes Cam)meet with friends and fellow ward members to share in some fun with our kids. This blessed tradition is called playgroup. I adore my, ahem...I mean our playgroup.

Today for playgroup something extra special was planned. We took the kids to the nearest fire house and toured it. The moms enjoyed it even more than the kids. We asked a lot of questions. Don't worry though, there was all sorts of fun things for the kids to look at.

Here are some things we experienced thanks to those kind guys at the station:
1. We got to sit in a fire truck. The last time I was in one I had just caused a minor car accident so this experience was much more pleasant.
2. We saw where the men and women ate, slept, exercised, watched tv, and did paperwork. Did you know fire fighters had to do paperwork?
3. We saw a fireman slide down his nifty fireman's pole.
4. A very brave fireman dressed up completely in his gear. There is no a/c in the garage with the trucks so it was quite warm! I wonder if the suit proctects from plain old desert heat?
5. They turned on the truck lights for us, and Conner of course, loves lights.

The tour sure did make me appreciate all that these people sacrifice and do for us so that we can have help when we need it most. Enjoy these pictures....
