He's Got Rthymn... AND He Walks!

Conner is 11 months old today.

He has been walking for a few weeks now. He gets better at it each new day. He loves to hold onto my fingers and walk around and around. His face lights up and he starts babbling. His doctor said she thought he would walk at ten months and she was right!

He loves to "dance" to any and all music. I'm suprised he hasn't tried it with the hymns at church. Maybe he knows they are not good for dancing. He is very interested in music, even tv show theme songs. They stop him in his tracks and mesmerize him.

Here are two videos that show him dancing and walking. He is such a joy to us.

Our First Family Camping Trip

Last weekend we headed up north to the Mogollon Rim.

That's pronounced moe-gee-own for those like me who are apt to butcher the language. We were camping with our ward, but only a few families showed up. We still had a great time, exploring the local fish hatchery and playing in the freezing cold creek water. Cam was one of only three elders who were there to cook breakfast. He made the pancakes and did a pretty nice job. We got rained on a little but Conner slept through the big storm that blew in our second night in camp.

It was really beautiful up there, and much cooler than the dry desert we live in.

I also included a video of Conner babbling because it's too cute not to share and I am really enjoying having a camera that takes pictures and records video. I am trying to remember to document as much as I can.

Cam is pretty good at videoing the cute stuff Conner does, we just need to get into taking pictures. They are so fun to look at later!

A Glimpse of Our Life at the Moment

I should clarify that this is more like a series of glimpses into our everyday. Conner is nineteen and a half pounds, thirty inches and getting to be more of a handful everyday. He is also getting to be more and more fun! He sort of gets what "no" means but that doesn't stop him for long. He usually just looks at us, smiles, and continues doing what we told him not to do. He leaves a path of destruction in our apartment, throwing books off their bookcases and getting into cupboards. He tries to crawl under everything he can. Including his rocking chair. He is very sensitive to raised voices and loud noises. It is very sad. I sing "Old Mcdonald to him everyday and use the toys on his farm-themed exer-saucer to show him what animals say what. Cameron is enjoying his martial arts class of mauy tai, even when he bruises his feet doing it. I am trying to baby proof the apartment, so our coffee table was removed from the living room after Conner bumped it and got a bloody nose. I wrote a skit for a recent Visiting Teaching Workshop and had a great time acting it out. We are getting ready for Cam to start a new semester of school and for Conner to start walking, and turn one.
