Our First Family Camping Trip

Last weekend we headed up north to the Mogollon Rim.

That's pronounced moe-gee-own for those like me who are apt to butcher the language. We were camping with our ward, but only a few families showed up. We still had a great time, exploring the local fish hatchery and playing in the freezing cold creek water. Cam was one of only three elders who were there to cook breakfast. He made the pancakes and did a pretty nice job. We got rained on a little but Conner slept through the big storm that blew in our second night in camp.

It was really beautiful up there, and much cooler than the dry desert we live in.

I also included a video of Conner babbling because it's too cute not to share and I am really enjoying having a camera that takes pictures and records video. I am trying to remember to document as much as I can.

Cam is pretty good at videoing the cute stuff Conner does, we just need to get into taking pictures. They are so fun to look at later!

  1. Precious little man!!! I wanted to go camping before our little one got here but it has just been TOO hot!! It's the hottest summer we've had in over 50 years in HSV!

  2. Oh man I do not envy the humidity! Our summer has been relatively cool for the desert but it was great to go up to the woods where it cooled off at night. It felt so good! Even when it rained!
